26/27 Class Placement Auditions
Due: April 13, 2026
Hello Current and Future HCHS Band Students!
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, the Houston County High School Band Program
will conduct Class Placement Auditions to determine ensemble placement for the 2026–2027
school year. These auditions help ensure that each student is placed in the ensemble that will
best support their musical development. All students planning to participate in band next year
must complete an audition. Links to all audition materials can be found below along with the google form for submission.
Audition Materials
This etude is required of ALL students auditioning for band at HCHS
These etudes are only required for students seeking placement in our top 2 ensembles. Students need only play the bracketed portion of the etude.
Students wishing to audition for the Jazz Band must record the chart found here. We are only accepting auditions on the following instruments: saxophone, trombone, trumpet, piano/keyboard, & guitar
Recording & Submission Instructions
1. Record each audition piece clearly (one video per piece).
2. Upload each video to YouTube as an Unlisted video (only those with the link can view).
3. Copy the link for each video.
4. Complete the Class Placement Google Form and paste the appropriate video links into
the form.
Students should verify that all links are correct before submitting the form so directors can
access the recordings.
